Wrong Lake is approximately 12 miles long and 7 miles wide, with many weed beds, reefs, coves, rapids and waterfalls, which add up to some fantastic fishing. The major game fish in this lake are Northern Pike, Walleye, Perch, and Whitefish (That's the only thing we did not catch). There is one Lodge on the Lake which is Thunderbird Lodge, that's reachable only by float plane. When I was there in Sept. 2001 the weather was cool but sunny (We did have a couple of days where there were clouds and rain). The fishing was fantastic, with the biggest Northern Pike being 40 inches, the biggest Walleye was 7lbs. 29 inches. The guides on Wrong Lake are from neighbouring Indian reservations. Their families have traveled the adjoining river system for literally thousands of years. Native guides have a special feel for finding trophy fish that must be experienced to be appreciated.
